Gemini Full Moon December 15
And other notes on the current sky
Sunday’s night sky will be illuminated with the last full moon of this year. A Gemini full moon is active and dynamic, emotional but with a rapidly working mind, never dull. Especially since this Gemini Moon is joined by Jupiter, the air is full of wild and beautiful ideas and their possibility is palpable. While Gemini is a sign of contradiction and duality, its ruler Mercury is in Sagittarius. Sagittarius asks for a select few of our ideas to be plucked out of the ether, committed to, made into a reality. Jupiter and Mercury, in each other’s home signs, change the usual dynamics of our thoughts, plans, decision making, and luck. Trust your first instinct and pay attention to the details; success may come from how you say something, the intricacies of your execution, your motivating beliefs. While Jupiter remains retrograde, let your plans simmer and develop completely before putting them into action.
Not only is Mercury in Sagittarius, they are also stationing direct during the full moon. Mercury stations at six degrees of Sagittarius, trine Mars (who is retrograde as well, and stationed at six degrees of Leo on December 6th). Whatever was up for reconsideration during Mercury retrograde has been sorted and can now integrate with the sensitive Mars retrograde process that will last until February. The full moon may mark an important point in this process (if you changed your mind or found a new approach to something, implement it).
Meanwhile, Venus is struggling in Aquarius, close to Pluto and opposite Mars. Topics of relationships and wealth may be feeling tense, right on time for the holiday season. Mars’ opposition to Pluto is ongoing and will continue into the new year, and is bringing some energy and action to the shifts in power dynamics that a Pluto sign change inevitably brings. While this is clear on the world stage, in personal lives some shifts may be brewing. Additionally, Venus has been ruling Uranus for some time, and her co presence with Pluto in Aquarius may be bringing some life or brightness to long-time coming Uranus shifts (think complete changes in structure and function, total breaks from set precedent, in whatever house Taurus rules in your chart). Venus reaches for support from her current ruler, Saturn, in her exaltation home of Pisces, offering in return some support from his domicile home of Aquarius. This suggests that the shifts in your relationship dynamics at this time will have lasting impacts; act accordingly.
As Saturn and Jupiter approach a square, there is an opportunity to review how well your actions and beliefs are supporting each other. Take into account all of 2024. Find cohesion and consistency in what you believe, what you want, and what you do, and success is within reach. The energy is bumpy, demanding, dual and fun, enjoy the last lunar cycle climax of the year.
Reflection or Journal Prompts:
Where is power shifting in my life? How does that align with my values? Identify areas of personal power amidst the changes.
Is there a change I desire that requires action?
A wonderful time to question your thought patterns, desires; why do I think this thing, why do I think how I do? What underlying belief informs it? How many layers can you go down?
