forecast march 10-16 (Virgo eclipse!)
Welcome to eclipse season! This week sees a Saturn cazimi, the first eclipse of 2025 and the first eclipse in Virgo of the Virgo-Pisces nodal transit, and ends with Mercury stationing retrograde.
This week, with the Saturn cazimi, Mercury crossing paths with retrograde Venus, and the eclipse, I feel like there is a flash of clarity. The Saturn cazimi strengthens Saturn, giving him a moment of distinguishment from the Neptune/North Node/Sun/Saturn congregation in Pisces, a heavy set of celestial bodies that have been blending into one another lately. Saturn’s annual cazimi moment draws attention to Saturn’s Pisces transit, on a personal level, what have you been building in the Pisces/Saturnian area of your chart; what limitations and rejections have you been experiencing. A reorientation or new commitment may be in order.
The Mercury and Venus retrogrades have to do with disillusionment; by the time they are moving direct again, I think most will realize that something in the Pisces realm of the chart is not what it seemed. The astrological new year and start of Aries season is fast approaching, a time of new beginnings and birth; our concepts for this season of creation are undergoing some refinement. The conjunction this week is the only exact conjunction between the two this cycle, and will emphasize where the planet of communication and the planet of relationships are overlapping in the retrograde story; which parts of their retrograde periods are a joint effort (probably, lots of it). This could be a moment of understanding how a root problem expresses itself in both relationships, values, thinking and communication, or a moment of seeing a goal or destination in the Pisces-Aries or relational-communicative area. Potentially, relationship concerns or dramas will be voiced or revealed this week.
This Virgo lunar eclipse is ruled by Mercury, who will be in Aries in their last moments of direct motion before their station retrograde. The Sun is ruled by Jupiter, remaining in detriment Gemini (also ruled by Mercury). This gives this eclipse a mental feeling. Eclipses, fated events, always signify shifts and change. However, what occurs under an eclipse is often the seed, or humble beginning, of something that will grow to be more significant that we first imagined. Especially since this is our first lunar eclipse in the sign of Virgo, the eclipse stories in the Virgo-Pisces axis of our charts are still beginning. The very first eclipse of this Virgo-Pisces axis cycle was in September of 2024. A gravitational pull that arrived around that time is taking some shape, we may get a glimpse of what is to come from this nodal transit. The next Virgo-Pisces eclipse (and only eclipse cycle completely in those two signs) occurs in September of this year. Eclipses are breaks from the norm, lunar eclipses can be emotional, climactic, unexpected. This eclipse is notably close to Uranus, the Sun applying a sextile while the moon applies a trine. An idea or statement, for some an event, could set into motion a big change. Something flips upside down; somewhere in the structure and function of our lives, what is not supporting us becomes apparent and the new way becomes visible.
Finally, on Sunday, Mercury stations retrograde at 9 degrees of Aries. This transit will take us through this eclipse season. There are lots of large scale forward shifts and simultaneous revisions occurring throughout March; further revelations about the eclipse or general Piscean happenings may continue to arrive until Mercury’s cazimi March 24th. It is a month of rocky waters; good luck and happy eclipses!
I offer full moon mini readings, and this month’s readings will focus on this lunar eclipse. These are 30 minute casual sessions that discuss the eclipse impact on your chart and life for a $15 donation to a charity I elect each month. This month proceeds will go to the Trans Health Legal Fund. To book, DM me on Instagram at @28degreesastro or email me at biancaastro@outlook.com!
