February 17-23 Forecast
I am excited to be starting weekly forecasts! You can expect them every Monday
The astrology of this week begins bridging the gap between winter and spring. The energy is awkwardly beginning to shift, as Saturn spends his last week in the second decan of Pisces and Mars spends his last week retrograde. Conceptions of things to come are arising; there is an applying sextile between Jupiter and Venus that unfortunately will not complete, as Venus will turn retrograde before catching up to Jupiter. This creates a build up of creative energy that may not realize itself as quickly as expected. The week has an energy of almost; it almost happened, it’s almost perfect, it’s almost ready. But not quite, there is something that has yet to click into place. Mercury and Venus are approaching their respective retrogrades, so this time period will be going under review and revision. Meanwhile, the Piscean Neptune and North Node conjunction lays a haze over the current quality of time, and allows for imaginative and creative manifestation at best and projection, confusion, and misfired signals at worst.
Today (Monday February 17) the moon remains in it’s weekend home of Libra. Usually a social and harmonious lunar transit, Libra is a touchy place for the moon right now as it conjoins Lilith, opposes Chiron, and squares Mars. While the transit will make for days full of connection, interactions may be more likely to strike a sensitive chord. The trine to the Aquarius Sun provides support, helps the uncomfortable emotions find an outlet.
Tuesday is the last day of Aquarius season, and the Moon moves into Scorpio. This brings attention to Mars, who is moving very slowly towards his direct station. With the Aquarian Sun at 29 degrees, there is something stubborn and immovable about this Mars day.
On Wednesday, Pisces season officially begins and we are at last in the final phase of winter. Personal and financial conversations may not go smoothly as Mercury and Venus form an uncollaborative semi-sextile. Venus is already well into her retrograde shadow period, so issues or tensions that present today (even just as ideas) may come back around later. The Scorpio Moon and Cancerian Mars will support each other with mutual reception today, providing some time to process emotions or take steps towards any goals that have arisen throughout the Mars retrograde period.
Thursday, Mercury squares Jupiter, finding mutual reception. Communication today may be unique, surprising, and unconventional, but has strong potential to work out positively. The Sagittarius moon will help us keep open minds, and lift the mood a little as we approach the weekend.
Friday and Saturday are mild days; we enjoy the Sagittarius moon. The Sun will be semi-sextile with Pluto, which should lift some of the intensity of having Pluto and the Sun together in Aquarius. A lovely day to find new perspectives on whatever occupies your mind.
The week ends on a somber and sticky note; the Capricorn moon activates the same sensitive Cardinal points that we began the week with, and the Mars station begins. I expect there to be subtle turning points on this day, although with the Neptune and North Node conjunction exact, we may not be able to see them clearly yet.
