Astrology Forecast April 7th-13th
Mercury and Venus stations, a Libra Full Moon
The wheels grind to a halt and the lights turn on; Venus retrograde is conjunct Saturn, and Mercury is stationing direct. We are back above the water and beginning forward motion, leaving something at the bottom of the ocean probably. This week's transits really help us move ahead. Last weekend’s Mars-trine-Saturn-sextile-Uranus brought erratic, malefic pressure felt everywhere, and is now beginning to separate. Mercury and Venus are finishing their Pisces-Aries retrograde periods. The Mercury and Venus retrogrades punctuated Saturn, the North Node, and Neptune conjoining in Pisces, Neptune entering Aries, and our final Aries eclipse of this nodal cycle. Mercury and Venus have been bringing these larger themes (sometimes only observed in the larger world, or felt subtly) into our personal lives, so that each individual and collective has been experiencing the liminal between Aries and Pisces in one way or another.
Mercury stations direct on Monday at 26 degrees of Aries, conjunct the North Node, near the Venus-Saturn conjunction and close to the Mars-Saturn-Uranus configuration that was exact over the past weekend. This Mercury station is touching every major influential aspect in the sky right now; it could bring a moment of clarity and understanding, a fresh perspective, an epiphany about the underlying story connecting all that is happening in this moment.
Venus and Saturn are conjunct on Monday as well. Venus conjoined Saturn for the first time this trip around the sun back on January 18th, a date that may be worth looking back on now. She will stay very close to Saturn through her direct station at the end of this week, making a final exact conjunction on April 25th. The conjunction tests our values against our actions, challenges the ideological foundations of our relationships, and refines what and who we associate with; pour into; give life to. The conjunction takes place at 25 degrees of Aries, the Sabian symbol is: “warning against overstretching, avoiding overwhelm by development of discrimination; a man possessed of more gifts than he can hold” (jamesburgess.com). While Venus in Pisces sees beauty and potential in all places, Saturn requires actualization, and as Venus moves towards Aries what lacks substance and effort will be left behind in the ether.
This energy brings us right up to the coming weekend, when Venus will station direct under a Libra full moon. The Libra moon, ruled by Venus, serves as a grand finale for her retrograde cycle. The Sun will be conjunct Chiron; it will be our last full moon before Mars leaves Cancer, where he has been (on and off) since September. We have become accustomed to lunations ruling the planet of war. Our final full moon with a Cancer Mars occurs in cardinal signs, squaring Mars, so there may be an extra charge of high emotions or easy offensibility. Mars also rules the Aries Sun, and finds himself in a dysfunctional trine with Mercury; both planets are direct and decided, both are in poor condition (Mercury is in detriment in Pisces and Mars is fallen in Cancer).
This full moon will punctuate the tender identity crises that an Arian Venus retrograde can bring up; who are you, who do you identify as; why, for who; what does that mean to you? What does that mean to those you are in relationship with? Chiron’s presence hints that maybe, we have been looking for identity outside of ourselves. Release that! The Mercury-Mars trine adds an emotional, active element; some important or expressive conversations may occur. Thinking hard about where your feelings and motivations are coming from, and how and why you want to express them, can be helpful when Mercury lacks clarity in Pisces and Mars lacks direction in Cancer. This full moon is also a good time to reflect on the closing of the Aries-Libra eclipse cycle, which started in October of 23 and finished March 29th; how have you changed, and have you integrated those changes into your self concept? Sunday’s non-eclipse, Aries-Libra lunation could be the perfect time to do so.

I love the idea of releasing the identity we seek outside ourselves. So wise!
