Hello and happy Taurus season! It is the middle of Spring and the Taurean Sun is here to ground us into this time of growing light, and get us used to the astrological year of 2025. This forecast will be in a new format, describing transits that will occur over the next two weeks individually with dates, instead of day by day. I think this will make it easier for readers to relate their lives to the transits, and allow me some more time to work on non-forecast articles and projects. I am starting a more intensive study of astrological magic and medical astrology, and will be taking a break from offering timing readings (Transitional Times readings). I would still love to see you for a Natal Chart consultation or Full Moon Mini reading. The astrological weather for Monday, April 21st through Sunday, May 4th follows:
Taurus Season
Taurus season began yesterday (4/20). A fixed, Venus ruled Earth sign, Taurus invites us to pause the forward motion and feel into where we are; it is beautiful and sensual, stop-and-smell-the-roses energy. Taurus is a fixed sign, and the fixed skies are currently turbulent and eclectic, containing Mars in early Leo, Pluto in early Aquarius, and Uranus in late Taurus; this interrupts the stability that Taurus is usually associated with, indicating that this season will be a time of transformation and the unexpected. Today (4/21), the Sun exacts a square with Mars. Square aspects create tension, and apply pressure on us to resolve two things that are odds. We are asked to find compromise and integration between how it feels to be ourselves and what we do to express who we are, the violence or actions committed to assert ourselves and their material consequences. The Taurus Sun is applying a superior square, so he has the power here and immediately checks Mars in Leo, who can be selfish in perspective and stubborn in action. This alignment also involves Pluto, who will receive a square from the Sun on Wednesday April 23 and then an opposition from Mars on Sunday April 27. Pluto’s influence tests the Martian and Solar ongoings against the winds of change. Wednesday’s Sun square Pluto will ask us to let our experiences change us, bringing awareness to Pluto’s transit and how it is impacting our lives; does the structure of our world and your mind allow this light to shine, this experience to realize?
Venus, Saturn, and the North Node in Pisces
Venus and Saturn have been very close together since their second conjunction of Venus’ retrograde cycle that occurred around April 7th. Saturn has been adding a strictness to Venus’ direct station. Venus retrograde slowed and inverted topics of love and relation, aesthetics, values, relational behavior and so on, taking them out of our external realities and into our inner worlds. Now they are being reborn under Saturn’s stern eye; asking are you sure that this is coming with us into the future, into the next Venus story. The final conjunction will form on Friday April 25th, punctuating this transit for the last time; the energy will lighten when Venus enters Aries on May 1st. Venus and Saturn are currently (4/21) very close to the North Node. The North Node has been hanging out in late Pisces like a troll under a bridge, operating a checkpoint for planets making their transition from Pisces into Aries. The North Node brings gravity, emphasis, direction and attention to whatever it touches, so this Venus-Saturn conjunction might be a point of focus over the past week and into this one. Let the gravity draw your attention to where it needs to fall, but try not to fixate too much; the North Node is a magnifying glass, and it will soon separate from Venus and Saturn.
Mars in Leo Opposite Pluto in Aquarius
Mars will exact his opposition to Pluto on April 27th, the same day as the Taurus New Moon. This aspect is forming for the third time. Reflect on occurrences around these oppositions, and you may find a related story in your life. The first opposition occurred on November 3rd 2024, with Mars at 29 degrees of Cancer and Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn. The second occurred on January 3rd 2025 at 1 degree of Leo and Aquarius respectively; Sunday’s occurs at 3 degrees of Leo and Aquarius. Oppositions present a challenge; there is potential for opposite energies and actions to create impressive synastry, or chaos and discord. For better or worse, conflicts and clashes under Mars-Pluto will have resounding ramifications and may come from deep motivations that don’t appear at first glance. Emotions run high, reasoning may be irrational; look for new perspectives and think things through before you act on anything (but do what needs to be done).
Taurus New Moon
The new moon in Taurus falls on Sunday, April 27th. New moons are brief moments of silence and empty space, where one story concludes and another begins. This lunation features the Mars-Pluto opposition, squared by Lilith in Scorpio and the new moon itself. Ruled by Venus who remains in Pisces, near Saturn, the emphasis is on relationships, and what is coming to an end right now so that new cycles can truly begin. The final Mars-Pluto opposition likely ties in. The new moon strikes me as a transition point between the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025, into the summer months of 2025 that see so many energetic shifts. Stories ongoing over the past 6 months see a quiet conclusion, a clear one with Saturn next to Venus. This new moon may be disruptive to the fabric of personal relationships, but sometimes things need to change; Lilith in Scorpio suggests personal power will win over harmony and coalescence with the social fabric. These endings create opportunities in the Taurus house of your chart, opening up space so new things can begin to develop.
Venus in Aries
May 1st, Venus finishes her time in Pisces and enters Aries. Leaving her territory of exaltation, she is fallen in Mars-ruled Aries. She will immediately conjoin Neptune (May 2nd), a day to indulge in art and creative pursuits. However, Venus-Neptune brings murkiness and unreliability to conversations around relationships and values; wait to make final resolutions on these topics until Venus separates from Neptune around May 9th, or even better May 17th when she leaves her retrograde shadow. There may be re-emergence of energies from Venus’ pre-retrograde time in Aries, February 6th through March 28th. Venus is in fall in Aries because the impulsive, self oriented fire sign doesn’t naturally create harmony, but it does help us connect to who we are and what we want in our relationships and value systems. Notice what kinds of art, projects, relationships, experiences catch your attention during this time, and consider following the impulse. Venus will be in Aries until June 7th.
